In 1998, he was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer of the SAQ (Société des alcools du Québec) and a few years later, was named Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Loto-Québec. The shift in the SAQ’s commercial direction, executed during his tenure, ensured that the corporation ranked third among Quebec’s most admired companies.
Mr. Frigon’s entire career has revolved around marketing and entrepreneurship. His achievements include the launch of La Maisonnée convenience stores concept for Steinberg and the Metrostar gala, now known as the Gala Artis, for Metro-Richelieu.
As an entrepreneur, Mr. Frigon has notably launched the Bon Appétit recipe card collection, as well as the collection L’Argent du monde, the books Qu’est-ce qu’on mange? vol. 3 for Le Cercle des Fermières du Québec and La soupe est servie.
In 1996, he co-founded, with his partner Hélène Héroux, the relational marketing agency Publipage and a few years later, the golf simulator company Golfotron.
As an investor in the TV show ‘Dans l’oeil du Dragon’, Gaetan helps entrepreneurs face the challenges associated with starting up their business.
President and CEO
After graduating from Laval University in Business Administration in 1981, Hélène Héroux began her career in media at Cossette Communications/Marketing. She then went on to work for major Canadian publishers and in the food industry.
During that period, she founded the Quebec Direct Marketing Association (now called Quebec Relationship Marketing Association).
Her entrepreneurial career took shape after she left Metro-Richelieu, where she was developing promotions and direct marketing strategies. In 1993, she leveraged this experience to raise the profile of the Bon Appétit recipe card collection as well as the collection L’Argent du monde, the books Qu’est-ce qu’on mange? vol. 3 for Le Cercle des Fermières du Québec and La soupe est servie.
In 1996, Hélène joined her partner Gaétan Frigon to co-found Publipage, a relational marketing agency and Golfotron, a golf simulator company.
In 2008, she successfully led Publipage in a shift toward internet marketing solutions, a move that has enabled them to become a leading Canadian internet marketing agency. The acquisition of Alsa Marketing in 2012 positioned Publipage as a strong leader in relational marketing.
